ME: “Did you keep your no drinking before 6 p.m rule?”
EM: “Almost…5 p.m.”
ME: “But you broke your one night a week rule.”
EM: “I did…I did.”
Em makes pointed eye contact to signify honesty, as if admission of the slip makes it a less dangerous slope.
I run away to blog. I don’t want this in my life, not any of it. Alcohol has wrought enough havoc in my life. I don’t want any more of it. Not any more. So here I am, silent screaming again.
